Compensation given to beneficiaries

With Gram Sabha themselves picking the beneficiaries of various schemes set up to help the poor, those who truly need the facilities on offer have been chosen, farmers' leader Yaluvahalli N Ramesh said here.

Speaking at a Gram Sabha organised at the taluk’s Doddamarali village panchayat limits, he asked the villagers to co-operate in identifying those who are really poor, so that they can be provided with housing as per the government scheme.

At the programme, cheques were distributed to the beneficiaries of various government schemes.
Narayanaswamy, a farmer who recently lost his oxen, was given compensation of Rs 5,000. Farmers’ leader N Ramesh also gave him a sum of Rs 5,000. Leaders Chadalupura Narayana swamy, S Y Mariyappa, Gram Panchayat President Ramaswamy, vice-president Channakeshava and others were also present.
