PFA (People for Animals) Bangalore, in association with Grand Ashok is organising a lunch and cookery demonstration at the hotel's Chinese restaurant The Mandarin today to raise funds for the Trust.
The cookery demonstration, by Chef Liang Kain Wah, will present about 12 easy-to-make vegetarian dishes from the Chinese cuisine which will include appetisers, the main course and desserts. Some of the dishes, as stated in a release, will include ‘Choy Yeen Look Chaa’ — vegetable dumplings and crisp celentro with chilli garlic tangy sauce, ‘Seechoy Woen Saan’ — flipped rice with an assortment of stewed vegetables and green onions in hot garlic wok and ‘Sin Ga Po Chowmein Fun’ — oriental wok tossed rice noodles with juliannes of vegetables and oriental spice, among others.
The cost per head to participate in this fundraising event will be Rs 600, the proceeds of which will go towards the upkeep of PFA shelters on the outskirts of Bangalore. The main objective through this event, according to the organisation, is to promote vegetarianism, to source and promote animal-free alternatives and to enroll celebrity spokespersons to popularise cruelty-free choices.
