“The ongoing probe into the Hyderabad blasts is in a very preliminary stage and based on some information gathered so far some possibilities have been identified. Security agencies and state (Andhra Pradesh) police are suspecting role of LeT and JeM in these blasts,” he told newspersons here.
He made these observations when asked if any group has been identified to be behind the blast.
“The probe is in its initial stages, security agencies and state police were suspecting the role of LeT and JeM,” he said.
“These elements or organisations are clearly outside the country. Past experiences show that they resort to fuelling such kinds of activities,” Gupta said.
However, he said what was more important is to nab “those who planned it and those who executed” these blasts.
It may be noted the Home Minister Shivraj Patil had declined to specify whether terror groups based in Pakistan and Bangladesh were behind the Hyderabad blasts.
On the other hand, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhar Reddy has already blamed international terrorist organizations based in Pakistan and Bangladesh for the twin blasts.
