Police have not been able to trace Bharath N S, region head, ING-Vysya, allegedly involved in abetting the suicide of Shylaja Praveen, his colleague.
“Some messages reportedly sent by Bharath to Shylaja have been deleted. We have not been able to trace concrete evidences that can prove the allegation of sexual harassment against him,” South Division DCP Alok Kumar said.
Meanwhile, Nirmala Venkatesh, Member In-charge (South), National Commission for Women issued a notice to ING Financial Services to produce Bharath before the police and the commission within 48 hours.
“I, along with some police officers visited the bank on Monday and conducted an inquiry with the women staff and Kamal Pasha, national head of the bank.”
“Women employees expressed satisfaction over the existing conditions in the bank. Possibility of the bank higher-up having directed the women to speak in favour of the bank cannot be ruled out. If officials fail to hand over Bharath within 48 hours, we will extend the deadline by a couple of days. If they don’t comply with the notice, the NCW will not hesitate to summon the bank CMD,” she said.
“I strongly believe Shylaja might have left behind a suicide note as a pen was lying near her body. The first to enter the house was Prashanth and the possibility of Prashanth having destroyed the letter cannot be ruled out,” she added.
