"They are a fine side. If you look at the batting line-up, it is formidable and it is a credit to the way our boys have bowled. You see the way their bowlers had performed in the Test series, Zaheer Khan and RP Singh were bowling well even now. We've played well for the two games we've won and we've got to keep India under pressure," Flintoff said.
Flintoff said it was a big disappointment for him to miss the last match at Edgbaston. "I was disappointed not to play at Edgbaston. I came back into the side and obviously enjoyed being around the England side, getting out there and playing again. But I got a sore knee and couldn't play there. But the lads played fantastically well and today I've come through my training session, I've bowled, I've batted, I've done what I need to, and hopefully it doesn't flare up and I can get on with it tomorrow," he said.
Feeling good
"I felt good running in. We'll assess it tomorrow morning, and hopefully it will be right. I've got a sore knee, but it is nothing major. It would have been nice if I could have got away with it, and every part of my body had been fine, but my knee flared up and hopefully, I've seen the back of it," he said. On coming back into the side, Flintoff said, "That's the point. They played well the other day, especially in the field. There is competition for places, isn't there? If I am fit, hopefully I'll get a go," he said.
About the mood in the squad going into the morrow's match, Flintoff said, "There is a very relaxed atmosphere within the camp. If you see the way in which the lads warm-up, the intensity of the fielding session and when they are out on the field, there's a lot of enjoyment. There's a lot of energy knocking around."
Flintoff also praised England's effort on the field. "That performance at Edgbaston in the field is something England have been striving for a long time and we reached that. The challenge for us now is to maintain it. Over a period of time we've shown we can beat sides in one-off games, we've got to string some results together now. That's the next step for this group of lads," he said.
