The contest, as stated in a release, provides professional and semi-professional bands with an opportunity for a career in music. 
One finalist will be shortlisted from each of the seven cities where the competition will be held, who will then compete in the grand final to be held at Mumbai’s Hard Rock Cafe on October 14. The winner of the final competition will be given a chance to be listed on a four-set compilation CD with Sony BMG
Judging the contestants, who must be over 21 years of age as on September 1, will be experts from the music industry who will look at various criteria including material, playing effectiveness, timing and entertainment value.
