Fans for F1
Radio Indigo 91.9 FM, Bangalore, is turning one year old in September and a host of treats have been lined up. The first is an all-expense paid trip to watch the Formula 1 Gran Premio D’Italia 2007 at Monza, Italy. One lucky F1 fan will be sent to Monza with air tickets, accommodation and paddock passes for the races on September 8 and 9, for himself/herself and a friend. The contest, currently on air, ends on August 31. At the end of the day, the lucky winner’s name will be announced, states a release.
Art contest for children
Primus Public School is hosting Bangalore open art competition for children on September 9 at 10 am at the school premises located off Sarjapur road near the Wipro corporate office. The competition is open to all children from tiny tots to 15 year olds. The participation in the event is free. Prizes worth Rs 1 lakh are waiting to be won. Noted artist Yusuf Arakkal will be the principal judge at the event and will talk to participants.
Children can participate in four categories: toddlers upto age 6; sub juniors —6 to 8 years; juniors —9 to 11 years and seniors—12 to 15 years. Children will be provided paper while they have to bring  pencil, eraser and colours. A winner and two runners-up will be chosen in each category besides several consolation prizes. All participants will get a gift hamper and a certificate. The school will also make arrangements for picking up and dropping  children at pre- designated points.
