'Humour must for students'
DH News Service, Pavagada:

Life Insurance Corporation’s M V Shashidhar has said that for the students to come out of the monotony of studies, a few humour programmes were necessary.

He was speaking at a function in Nethravathi high school in Gujjangudu village in the taluk and said humour literature was becoming famous all over and humour programmes were attracting huge audiences. Even all the regional TV channels were telecasting humour programmes giving them a lot of importance.

Hence, he said that at least once in a week there should be humour programme for the children so that they can relax and come back fresh for studies.

Tonic for life

Laughter is like a tonic for life. While only a few nerves work when one is crying, thousands of nerves work when one is laughing, say scientists. Hence, one can see how important humour is in one’s life, he said.

He also asked the students to read humour books written by litterateurs. If Kannada language had to be saved every student should become a beacon and only then will the border area Pavagada become a pure Kannada region.

Shashidhar also sang some humour songs and entertained the children.

Prasannakumar said the children should understand the local history and this they could do by learning it from the elders by asking for details about the history of the monuments and other interesting items.

Head Master Ramanna presided. Siddappa, Anantappa, Nagarajappa and others participated. Children presented cultural programmes.
