For the developmental works to be undertaken in the new district Rs six crore has been released and till the day only Rs 1.5 crore has been spent, said the district In-Charge Secretary R Suresh.
He was speaking at the district-level review meeting here on Friday. The remaining 4.5 crore will soon be utilised for several developmental works.
For the drinking water project Rs 50 lakh has been released under the Centre’s scheme. Arrangements will be made to provide water from Jakkalamadagu reservoir to 10 villages, said the PWD executive engineer Padmanabha. The grant has been released for the Public Works Department to undertake road works. Under the 12th fiscal plan, grant has been released for the development of 2913 km road in the district.
As compensation package for the damage caused due to heavy rain, Rs 10 crore has been sanctioned. The district administration will also provide basic amenities across the district and of the 67 departments, 47 departments are operating and 27 departments in-charge officers are functioning, said HQ Kulkarni.
