A city of dreams
All cities change with time but in Bangalore the change has been most visible and mostly for the worse. Traffic has gone from bad to nightmarish, trees are fewer, civic amenities have deteriorated, and temperature have risen.
Residents cry foul over Viveknagar drain
When the clock nears four in the evening, a number of residents of Vivek Nagar layout and its extension hasten to shut their doors and windows. It is not the fear of burglars but the bites from the hordes of mosquitoes that have made the drain their home.
Free of ambiguity
'Creeper', a recent production by No Scope productions at Ranga Shankara revisited the mythical tales of Vikram and Betal but with a twist. Though it was supposed to be a modern adaptation, the play isnt quite a re-hash of an old story.
Let the music play
Swing and swagger along in that sing song way to the welcoming abode of astounding music, books, audios, that await your grace at British Library and croon along with the CDs of your choice!
Evoking emotions through art
'Waterborne' through which Vivek Mathew attempts to evoke emotions was a series that wove interesting stories around the theme of water.

Taslima's dilemma
Was the West Bengal government right in nudging controversial Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen into leaving Kolkata? Should the Centre extend political asylum or Indian citizenship to her as she says she can’t go back to Dhaka?

Deccan Herald had invited its readers to send their opinions. Most readers opine that persuading Taslima Nasreen to leave the state was an extreme move and that granting asylum is humane although extending citizenship to her is debatable. A few others insist that she must now return home to Dhaka as her views have hurt the sentiments of Muslims.
