Shanta, a resident of J P Nagar, owns a revenue site which is under litigation; but she didn’t know whether she can apply under the Sakrama scheme. She drlopped in at an interaction session on Sakrama, with BBMP officials, organised by Deccan Herald at Jaraganahalli, off Kanakapura road on Sunday, and had her doubts clarified.
Like Shanta, scores of property owners had their doubts about the scheme clarified. At the session, a four-member BBMP team headed by Joint Director (Town Planning) S S Topagi answered all queries.
Sakrama has become a hot topic of discussion in the city. With the last date for filing Sakrama forms nearing fast, citizens are getting more anxious. Though they have obtained forms and are eager to get their properties regular ised, they have not been able to do so. The reason: doubts.
For instance, Wing Commander Raju, who owns a DC converted plot in Kothan oordinne, wanted to know if he should apply under Sakrama. Mr Topagi’s answer was no. Another property owner, Girish, wanted to know if a building plan sanctioned by a gramathana is considered illegal. “If the plot falls under a gramatana limit and the gramatana authorities have sanctioned the plan, there is no need for regularisation of the property,” officials clarified.
Venkateshmurthy, a Kothnoor resident, asked officials how much fee he has to pay under Sakrama for a 30X40 ft plot. Officials informed him that the fee amount depends on the guidance value of the area, and asked him to contact an architect or an engineer to know the exact amount.
The BBMP has kept guidance value booklets at all Bangalore One centres for people to refer to it.
Some citizens, who have already applied under the scheme and are hoping that the Government may slash the fee amount in view of the wide-spread demand, wanted to know what the BBMP would do with the difference amount paid towards the fee if the government reduces the fee.
No reduction
Mr Topagi said he is not aware of Government reducing the fee amount. If it is done in future, the BBMP will refund the difference amount to the respective applications, he added.
