The decision was taken at the meeting organised by the Akhila Bharata Yuva Veerashaiva Mahasabha Unit on Sunday to discuss the alleged remarks made by former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy about veerashaiva mutt pontiffs.

The meeting was attended by heads of various communities and organisation in addition to the veerashaiva mutts.
In the meeting it was said that Kumaraswamy had spoken lightly about veerashaiva mutts and their pontiffs including Dr Shiva Kumara swamiji seer Siddaganga mutt pontiff.
In the meeting leaders have reiterated the stand that veerashaiva mutts have never engaged in politics and have either interfered in it. The remarks have hurt the sentiments of all the people, the leaders added.
Unanimously
A decision to hold bandh condemning the remarks was unanimously accepted at the meeting. During the bandh all shops and organisations have been asked to closed down except the emergency services , said the leaders who urged the people to support it.
