Teams arrive to warm welcome
DH News Service, Bangalore:
The Indian and Pakistani team members arrived here from Kolkata in the morning for the the third and final Test beginning here at the M Chinnaswamy stadium to be held here from December 8-11.

The teams on their arrival were greeted with a cloudy weather holding a rain threat for the decider.

While skipper Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and bowling coach Venkatesh Prasad had arrived on Tuesday night itself, the rest of the Indian team -- barring Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh -- landed here at around 9.30 am. The Kolkatan along with Yuvraj, who was down with a stomach ailment and failed to take part in Punjab’s Ranji clash with Bengal, are expected to arrive on Wednesday morning.

The entire Pakistan team, barring Mohammad Yousuf, too arrived this morning and were received at a City hotel with a traditional welcome.

Tuesday being the rest day for both the teams, most of the players confined themselves to the comforts of their rooms.

There, however, were a few who prefered to venture out. Indian skipper in the shorter-version of the game, Mahendra Singh Dhoni went to meet up with his friends while Dinesh Kaarthick, struggling for runs, sweated it out at the National Cricket Academy.

As the evening wore on, a couple of Pakistani players, including left-arm pacer Sohail Tanvir, stepped out to check out some happening places in the City.

With the series at stake, both teams will get down to some serious business from Wednesday.
On the morrow both the teams have their practice sessions scheduled in the afternoon.
