After certain episodes of violence that occurred in Surathkal region, normalcy returned here on Thursday.
    Though section 144 was imposed in the district for maintenance of law and order, it did not affect transportation and normal life in anyway.

     No untoward incidents were reported on Thursday though there were rumours in the air about the same.
Police have succeeded in restoring peace in the region. However, the section will be in force till Friday midnight.
The four persons who were injured in the incidents of violence that occurred on Tuesday and Wednesday are recuperating in various private hospitals in Surathkal and Mangalore.

Police pulled the shutters down on all shops barring medical shops and dispensaries.

Police dispersing the group of people assembling in public places was a common scene on Thursday. Police personnel were efficiently deployed at Surathkal, Katipalla, Krishnapura, Chokkabettu, Kaikamba, Kulai, Bykampady, Jokatte and other    regions.
