PUTTIGE SEER READY FOR TALKS
Pejawar seer hopes to solve problem before Paryaya
DH News Service, Udupi:

Pejawar Pontiff Sri Vishweshtheertha Swamiji today assured to refer all Dharmashastras, which may prove beneficial to Putthige Seer to ascend to Paryaya Peetha.

Softening from his earlier stand, Pejawar pontiff said that he never opposed Putthige Seer to ascend Paryaya Peetha, instead he disagreed only upon him performing Poojas to lord Krishna inside the Sanctum Sanctorum.
Speaking at a news conference here on Thursday, Pejawar pontiff said that Putthige Seer will receive all the respect and can look after all the financial and administrative aspects of the Paryaya but the only objection is to offer prayers and perform rituals to Lord Krishna.

Disagreeing against the external interference, Pejawar Seer said that Paryaya controversy is only related to Astha Mathadeeshas and hoped to solve the problem within themselves amicably before the Paryaya.
Pejawar Seer also said that Sagarollangana differs from Videsha Yatra and various Dharmashastras have their own rigid stand on videsha yatra.

Reacting to Putthige Seers allegations that this issue was recently created by Pejawar Seer, the latter said that this was the issue, which was discussed long back, prior to Putthige Seer’s videsh yatra, which was ignored by him.

Insisting upon choosing a disciple for the purpose of performing the prayers, Pejawar Seer said, the right to choose the disciple will be with Putthige Seer but only the ritual of giving ashrama will be performed by the Dwandhwa math.

Pejawar Seer also informed that no Seer was pressured to sign the letter, which was forwarded to Putthige Seer and Shiroor Seer himself had signed, which he is now declinining to have done so, which is not a respectful deed for a Yathi, he added.

Defending his active participation in politics, Pejawar Seer said he had done so to perform his duty as mathadhipathi when politicians irrespective of their parties approached him to seek advice and blessings.
“This kind of interaction between mathadhipathis and politicians has been practiced since ages and can be witnessed when referred to the pages of history too,” he added.

Meanwhile, speaking to reporters in Mangalore on Thursday night, Puttige seer Sugunendrateertha Swamiji said that he was ready for talks with the seers. However, the seer reiterated that he will not go back on his stand.
