Control Production
New Delhi, Dec 6.
An Independent member, Raja Mahendra Pratap, created great laughter in the Lok Sabha today by asking if Government would “bracket” birth control with food production.
When a question on additional food production target was being answered, Raja Mahendra Pratap asked why this was not being done, since the Prime Minister himself laid great stress on birth control.
US Satellite Fizzles Out

After repeated attempts during the last fortnight, America’s bid to send her first earth satellite to outer space today proved abortive when the vanguard rocket with satellite yanknit failed to take off at 4.46 pm GMT (8.15 am IST) here.

BJP Accuses Janata Of Recalcitrance

Bangalore, Dec 6.
Attempts by the BJP to arrive at an agreement with the Janata over seat adjustment have failed. “The ball is now in the Janata court”, Jana Krishnamurthy, BJP General Secretary, said here today.
Saying that the BJP had decided to go it alone, Mr Krishnamurthy explained that they were forced to take this stand because of the Janata’s recalcitrant attitude.
