Scrabble tournament

Karnataka State Scrabble Association (KSSA) has announced qualifier rounds to select Indian participants for the 4th iGATE International Scrabble Tournament. The Bangalore qualifiers will be held December 8 and 9 between 9.30am and 5 pm at the iGATE campus in Whitefield (158-162 EPIP Phase II, Whitefield)

Sixteen games, each of 50 minutes duration will be played over two days. Word source will be Collins Scrabble world list, the official dictionary reference source for World Scrabble Championships.

The Qualifying round is open to any interested participant. There is no age bar.

Garden products display

Vanastree - the Malnad Forest Garden and Seedkeepers' Collective, Sirsi, is holding a display cum sale of a range of products from the home gardens of its members on December 8 and 9 from 10 am to 6 pm.

It will be held at at No 4, Ashley Road, Off Brunton Rd (behind Hotel Ajantha on MG Rd).

Products incldue wild forest foods, traditional snacks and preserves, spices, honey, herbs, garden pharmacy baskets, indigenous seeds, natural rangoli colours, hand-sewn patchwork quilts, wild date palm yoga/gym mats and other crafts are some of the things that will be there.

Vegetable dyed clothes from DESI and handmade products from Kundapur campus of The Concerned for Working Children (CWC) will also be displayed.

Art exhibition

Kynkyny art gallery is holding an exhibition of paintings by P Mahesh Kumar and Siva Balan from December 10 to 23 with a preview on December 8. The preview will be at 7 pm.

Book launch

“Ananda Ramamrutham”, a book of classical devotional songs composed and compiled by Dr B Sadanand will be released on December 9 at 11 am. The event wil be held at Indian Institute of World Culture, B P Wadia Road, Basavanagudi.
