Al Ameen down Christ College
Al Ameen College blanked Christ College 5-0 in the inter-collegiate football tournament, organised by Rotary Bangalore, Indiranagar, and KSFA, at the Bangalore Football Stadium on Thursday.

Results: St Joseph’s College of Commerce: 5 bt Jain College: 1; Al Ameen College: 5 bt Christ College: 0.

Postal blank Madras Sappers
Two-goal blitzes from Prakash Chalke and Samuel Niranjan saw Postal scoring a 4-0 win over Madras Engineer Group in the State ‘A’ Division hockey league at the KSHA stadium on Thursday.

Chalke scored in the 7th and 59th minutes, while Niranjan’s goals came in the 35th and 54th minutes. Earlier, Pioneer Corps Training Centre defeated Indian Telephone Industries 4-1. For the winners, Cyprian Aind (10th, 39th), Anthony (17th) and Kalyan Kumar (58th) were on target, while for the Telephonesmen, Ramesh Yadav struck in the 12th minute.

Ponappa wins Division I title
IK Ponappa with 34 points won the Division I (0-9) full handicap title in the Airtel Bengalooru Habba golf tournament, played on the Stableford system. Indranil Bhosale, also with 34 points, was the runner-up.
Other results:

Division II (10-18, 3/4th handicap): BNS Reddy (34 pts) 1; N Sunil Kumar (35 pts) 2.
Division III (19 & above, 3/4th handicap): TK Joseph (33 pts) 1; SK Ahmed (31 pts) 2.
Division IV (veterans, full handicap): MS Kamath (37 pts) 1; Mary Malhotra (37 pts) 2.
Special prizes: Longest drive (9th hole): Charu Sharma. Closest to pin (15th hole): Dhanalakshmi Rice.
Brothers hold Independents
Bangalore Independents and Jolly Brothers played out a 1-1 draw in the ‘C’ Division football league at the 515 Army Base Workshop ground on Thursday.

Deepak put Independents ahead in the 23rd minute but Rajan restored parity for Jolly Brothers two minutes before the break.

Monthly chess meet on Dec 9
