Winners a ‘loser’
An IT firm employee was duped of Rs 19,800. According to Girish, a resident of Hulimavu, JP Nagar, he received an email from one Glen J Kennedy saying he had won Rs 5 crore in a contest. However, he had to remit some amount to claim the prize.
Some miscreants, said to be working in a bank in the UK, asked him to remit the amount in a bank. As soon as he did so, the amount was withdrawn by miscreants. He later found the email was fake.

Rs 2 lakh stolen
Two motorcycle-borne miscreants diverted the attention of a car driver and made away with Rs 2 lakh in Jayanagar 4th Block on Thursday. Krishnappa, a PA to an ex-minister, has lodged the complaint.

Case cracked
Hebbal police cracked a theft case within hours on Thursday. House owner Veeraiah found ornaments worth Rs 50,000 on Satyaranayana Swamy ‘kalasa’ were missing.
Police acted fast on the complaint. During questioning, a cook confessed to the crime.
