Natwar quits Rajya Sabha
Former External Affairs Minister K Natwar Singh on Friday resigned from the Rajya Sabha, relieving the Congress of the burden of pressing his disqualification over his alleged involvement in the Iraqi oil-for-food scam, reports UNI from New Delhi.
Singh was suspended from the party in August 2006 in the wake of the report by the Justice R S Pathak panel on the multi-million-dollar Iraqi oil-for-food scam.
Four Naxals, cop killed
Four Naxalites and a police constable were killed on Friday morning in an encounter in the Naxal-infested Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra bordering Chattisgarh, reports DHNS from Mumbai.
