'Epics depict our culture'
DH News Service, Bangalore :
Former Supreme Court Judge Justice M N Venkatachalaiah said that Ramayana and Mahabharatha were two epics, that showcase the rich cultural heritage of India.

He was talking after releasing `Purushothama’ book by Kedambadi Dr S Shekhar, during Sriramanjali function organised by ‘Mangala Mantapa’ of NMKRV college.

An inspiration
“Lord Rama evokes human values and that is why our society thinks of him as an ideal person transcending religious boundaries,” Justice Venkatachalaiah said.

Lauding Dr Shekhar’s effort, Justice Venkatachalaiah said that it was admirable for a doctor living in a cosmopolitan city like Bangalore and write this book. Swamy Brahmanandaji of Chinmaya Mission said that humane thought is godly, while cruelty and jealousy are proof of a devilish personality.

Lexicographer Prof G Venkatasubbiah, Mahe University’s former Chancellor Prof B M Hegde, senior scientist Dr S R Rao also spoke on the occasion and added to the opinions expressed by the two emminent personalities.
