Gold chain snatched
Bangalore, DHNS: Bike-borne miscreants snatched a gold chain worth Rs 30,000 from Sharmila, a housewife on Thursday night at Koramangala I stage. Sharmila, who resides near the BDA Complex in Koramangala was on her way to pickup her daughter from her music classes when the incident took place.

Guard run over by a vehicle
Bangalore, DHNS: A security guard working at a private company in Adugodi was run over by an unidentified vehicle in the wee hours of Friday on Tavarekere Main Road-Hosur Road junction.

The victim, Pradeep Mallik (25) who was heading back from work, died on the spot.

Miscreants make away with gold
Bangalore, DHNS: Leaving behind gold and cash unattended at a KSTRC bus proved to be costly for Manohar Rao.
The victim Manohar Rao, a native of Bellary was to board a bus from the KSTRC bus station in Majestic to Gadag on February 17 after attending his brother’s house-warming ceremony.

He had left his nephew Deepu to keep a watch on the luggage in the bus, as he and his wife had to answer nature’s call.

When the bus was about to leave and when Manohar Rao and his wife did not turn up, Deepu left behind the luggage in the bus and went in search of them.

When the three returned they found out that some miscreants had escaped with gold jewellery worth Rs 1.5 lakh and Rs 10,000 cash which was kept in a vanity bag belonging to Rao’s wife.

Upparpet police are on the lookout for the miscreants. Further investigation  has been going on.

Woman succumbs to burns
Bangalore, DHNS: A 35-year-old woman who suffered severe burn injuries while cooking at her residence in Lakshmipura, on February 17, succumbed to injuries at Tirupati on Thursday.

Patiamma, a native of Tirupati, was first admitted to Victoria Hospital and later shifted to the Tirupati Government Hospital where she died.

Complaint against Unani practitioners
Bangalore, DHNS: A complaint has been registered with the Upparpet police against 177 alleged fake Unani practitioners including former registrar A Hanume Gowda.

Dr Prakash, director, Karnataka Ayurvedic and Unani Practitioners' Board has filed the complaint.
