Soon after the CoD arrested Yahya for his alleged connections with the banned SIMI, his wife and children have disappeared. Yahya’s father is worried as they have neither returned to Kerala nor have they contacted anyone else in the family. No missing complaint has has been lodged yet.
According to sources, Fareeda had turned up at the Tilak Nagar police station on Wednesday to enquire about her husband. However, the police had told her that they had not picked up anyone by name Yahya. Meanwhile, about 40 sleeper cells are now under the State intelligence scanner.
About half-a-dozen youths who showed keen interest in the SIMI, have been picked up by the CoD.
However, a senior police officer claimed that the department was aware of Yahya’s activities and had kept a watch on his activities.
CoD sleuths are now seeking help from computer experts to retrieve data from Yahya’s laptop. The police are also awaiting information on Yahya’s email correspondence.
According to a Hubli report, the first JMFC court has remanded terror suspect Kammakutty alias Yahya Khan to CoD custody till March 6. CoD sleuths brought Yahya from Bangalore on Thursday night.
Yahya is also said to be the leader of terror suspects Mohammed Ghouse and Asadulla Abubaker, who were arrested at Honnali in Davangere district, and Mohammed Asif, a final year MBBS student of KIMS arrested in Hubli. All of whom are in CoD custody now.
