Techies meet watery grave
Bangalore, DHNS: Three software engineers from Bangalore, who had gone for an outing, drowned in river Cauvery on Sunday evening at Muthathi near Mandya.

The deceased were identified as Venkata Karthik Reddy of Tirupati, Rakesh Godral of Hyderabad and Vishal V Jing of Gulbarga. Reddy was staying in Vijayanagar, while Rakesh and Vishal lived in Mattikere and Gayatrinagar respectively.According to Halagur police, the three techies met a watery grave while taking bath in the river around 4.15 pm. A group of seven techies had gone for sight-seeing in the morning.

Bangaloreans killed in accident
Chennai, UNI: As many as 15 people, including four of a family from Bangalore, were killed and 26 injured in four road accidents across Tamil Nadu today. Police said six people, including two women, were killed and as many injured when a van, in which they were travelling, rammed into a tree while trying to avoid hitting a monkey in Tiruvannamalai district.

The victims were on their way to attend a betrothal function in Tiruvannamalai town from Sevvapet in Vellore district, when the mishap occurred.
