The Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activists on Sunday took out a protest rally against the Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav for his remarks against Kannadigas.
Raising slogans against the Central government they burnt the effigy of Lalu. They condemned the reported statement of Lalu that Kannadigas were dirty people. They also demanded that Kannadigas should be given prominence in Railway recruitment. Lalu openly saying that he will not reserve any seats for Kannadigas in recruitment is condemnable, they noted. The State Members of Parliament also came in for severe criticism from the KRV members for keeping quite despite the demeaning statements of the minister.
Pro-Kannada leaders V S Prakash, Madirappa, Nanjundappa and others took part in the protest rally.
