Maxicabs, taxis pull out of stir
The associations of maxicabs, city taxis and luxury tourist cabs announced their withdrawal from the strike late Sunday night, even as many trucks were back on Bangalore roads.

Doctors call off strike
The junior doctors' strike, which left Bowring Hospital paralysed and affected other hospitals affiliated to the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute, was called off on Sunday, after a meeting with the Governor who promised that their demands would be met.

Raging blaze... A major fire broke out atop Chamundi Hills, on the road to Uttanahalli, in Mysore on Sunday. The raging inferno, which broke out at 5 pm, engulfed 20 acres of land and could not be extinguished even after three hours of effort by the fire force personnel.
