Members of the Save Hogenakal Committee and the Zilla Abhivruddi Horata Samithi will be taken to Hogenakal Falls for a survey on February 26, said Forest Conservator Nagaraju.
At a meeting here on Sunday, they discussed ways through which the Tamil Nadu government can be stopped from going ahead with laying the foundation stone for the Rs 1,340 crore drinking water project at Hogenakal on February 26. Tamil Nadu government has planned to supply water to Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri districts from Cauvery river. Nagaraju stated that the demand had been brought to the notice of the State Chief Secretary through Chief Forest Conservator Avanikumar Varma and the officials will discuss the issue at a meeting on Monday, he said.
Nagaraju further stated that a permanent check post (of the police department in association with the forest department) will be set up near the Falls to keep a vigil till the joint survey works are completed.
