The High Court on Monday directed the City Crime Branch and Hennur Police station to file affidavit on the investigation proceedings in connection with criminal charges against Joseph Chacko. Chacko is facing charges of cheating many NRIs to the tune of Rs 35 crore on assurance of providing them flats in Bangalore.
The divisional Bench comprising Chief Justice Cyriac Joseph and Justice B V Nagarathna ordered the filing of affidavit on the status of investigation. Government advocate Srinivasa Gowda said Chacko had been absconding and not cooperating with the police for investigation. He alleged that Chacko had not been adhering to conditions put before him while he was granted bail.
