Karnataka High Court, on Monday, directed the returning officer of Gulbarga to declare result of elections to Gulbarga Assembly Constituency held in 2004 afresh taking into consideration former minister S K Kantha’s objections on Chandrashekhar Revura’s election.
Former minister S K Kantha in his writ petition had argued that Revura had submitted false affidavit on his assets and liabilities while filing nomination papers for assembly elections in 2004. Justice B S Patil directed the returning officer to take fresh decision on the victory of the candidate only after listening to both Chandrashekhar Revura and Kantha.
