Siddaganga fair begins today

The famous Siddaganga fair will kick start from February 28. The fair will have residents of Tumkur and all over the state witness the cultural and religious programmes which will have spectacular events for the devotees. It is a fine combination of religious and social activities will have several melas.

The shandy will have cattle fair, agriculture and industrial exhibition, cultural programmes. The fair ends on March 9. Daily serving of meals (Dasoha) for more than 15,000 devotees has been organised. No devotee is denied of food here. Dr Shivakumar swamiji, the seer of the Mutt is very particular that no person goes with an empty stomach.

Today at 6 pm, a religious discourse will be held by Shivakumar swamiji as part of the fair. Junior seer Sri Siddalinga swamiji will also participate and Chief Secretary Sudhakar Rao will inaugurate the function.

Journalist Vishweshwar Bhat will participate as the chief guest. Professor G S Siddalingaiah will deliver a lecture.

On March 6, the car festival of the Mutt will be held. This time the fair has got a special importance as next month the birth centenary celebrations of the seer will be held.
