Scouts and Guides helps students to lead a disciplined life and also makes them humane and self-restraint, opined S M Venkataramaiah, the principal of the Government Girls’ High School.
He was speaking at the Founder’s Day, and Scouts and Guides’ centenary celebrations here at DVG Rangamandira in Mulbagal on Tuesday.
Nanjappa of Block Education Office, who inaugurated the programme, said that Scouts candidates should imbibe certain values which will stand in good stead in their life.
Taluk State Government Employees’ Association treasurer Rajkumar said that the Scouts and Guides moulds the personality of the candidates.
Scouts’ officer Narayanaswamy advised the students to become humane and service-oriented.
Over 450 candidates participated in the procession that was taken out later on the main roads of the town.
Leader D Prabhakar, Shyamala and Janardhan Rao, Narayanashetty spoke on the occasion. Chanda Pasha of Scouts welcomed while B T Shankar compered and Taluk Scout Secretary E Srinivas Gowda thanked the gathering.
