Colours of festivals
B V Prathyusha

It’s not festival season but at Magnitude Art Gallery it’s festivals galore! The gallery is having an exhibition of paintings with the theme ‘Utsav’. The show is a part of a larger series called ‘Rang De India’ which will continue throughout the year. The Utsav exhibition, as the name suggests has paintings depicting the festivals celebrated across the country.

The paintings cover a fairly good deal of festivals right from Ganesh Chaturthi and Sankranthi to Pongal and Christmas. All the paintings have been created by in-house artists, as is Magnitude’s policy. The collection is interesting because each artist has his or her own perspective and style.

These different strokes make the exhibition an interesting melange of paintings.

Says S R Magar, MD, Magnitude Gallery, “This is a part of the series called ‘Range De India’. The series will feature other shows with themes like people, dances, monuments and much more. We wanted to create this collection because our country has a strong culture and heritage. We are paying tribute to it. Its also a great series because it is full of life, colour and vibrancy and will definitely enhance anyone’s mood.” The paintings are also priced fairly well and the exhibition is worth a visit.

The exhibition cum sale is on till the end of the month at Magnitude Art Gallery, 140/13, 27th Cross, 13th Main, 3rd Block, Jayanagar.
