INTERNATIONAL

CRICKET: Hosts Australia take on Sri Lanka in an inconsequential tri-series league encounter in Melbourne on Friday. The Aussies then clash with India in the first of the best of the three finals in Sydney on Sunday. The second final will be held in Brisbane on Tuesday.

South Africa will be eyeing a clean sweep when they square off with Bangladesh in the second and final Test beginning at Chittagong on Friday.

After winning the ODI series against England, hosts New Zealand will be looking for an encore in the Test series which begins in Hamilton on Wednesday.

The Under-19 World Cup will conclude in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.

TENNIS: Dubai Open WTA Tour concludes on Sunday, while the ATP event gets under way on Monday.

Zagreb Indoor and Memphis tournament end on Monday.

In Sania Mirza's absence, Williams sisters — Venus and Serena — will be the star attraction at the $600,000 Bangalore Open beginning at the KSLTA stadium courts on Monday (March 3).

The ATP Tour event — Las Vegas Open and Dubai Open — gets under way on Monday.
