ECONOMIC SURVEY 2007-2008
FM confident of 9% growth in 2008-09
"We are confident of meeting the 11th Plan (2007-08 to 2011-12) target of 9 per cent average growth", Finance Minister P Chidambaram said while referring to the rise in domestic savings and investment.

India faces uphill task of sustaining growth
"The new challenge is to maintain growth at these levels, not to speak of raising it further to double digit levels," stated the Survey, a report card on the economy, tabled in Parliament today.It suggested a slew of reform measures that  could help raise the growth to an ambitious double digit level.
