More than 200 auto drivers staged a snap stir in front of Bowring Service Station on St Marks Road in, Bangalore on Thursday night, to condemn the alleged cheating while filling the auto LPG cylinders.
Talking to protesters, Nava Karnataka Auto Drivers’ Association secretary Mehboob Pasha said that when some auto drivers tested the weight of the cylinders filled in this station in another petrol bunk they found 300 gram less gas in the cylinders, he alleged. The bunk owners sold as many as 10,000 litres of LPG every day and saved 3,500 litres illegally. Hence, the Weight and Measurement Department should initiate stern action against the bunk owners, he urged.
The petrol bunk owner P V Shetty denied the allegations and said that it was the handiwork of vested interests.
