Underpass work begins today
The work on the underpass at BDA junction will begin on Friday evening. The traffic police have already informed the public about traffic diversion necessary to facilitate the underpass work.

BBMP chief engineer (major roads) K S Krishna Reddy said 45 pre-cast elements are needed to construct the underpass. A few have already been shifted to the spot. The remaining will be shifted on Friday evening. The work will be completed in 45 days, he added.

BIAL’S move condemned
Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) has threatened to go on a strike, opposing Bangalore International Airport Limited’s (BIAL) decision to award tenders for the pre-paid taxi services to the private players, at the new Bengaluru International Airport.

KRV, President, Narayana Gowda, on Thursday, alleged that the promoters of the airport BIAL have awarded tenders to private players belonging to other states, instead of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC), which is now operating the pre-paid taxi services from HAL airport.He said that around 800 to 1,000 jobs were at stake, as KSTDC has lost out on the contract.

Telephones disconnected
More than 900 BSNL landline connections in Hebbal, Cholanayakanahalli, Vishwanathanathaianhalli, Guddahalli Main Road and its surrounding areas were disconnected on Thursday. Road widening work of Bellary Road is the reason for disconnection.

However, the restoration work has been taken up and connection would be restored soon, a BSNL release stated.

Ham radio course
Indian Institute of Science will conduct week-end course for grant of Ham Radio Operating license issued by the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology.

Classes will commence from Friday (Feb 29) at 6 pm at Ham Radio station, room no 98, 2nd Floor, Sree Kanteerava outdoor stadium, Kasturba Road. Call 9448302677
