At Cauvery junction, Welding gives way
Bangalore, DHNS
A frame of the steel girder on the floor of the Cauvery underpass gave way when a loaded lorry crossed it at about 11 am on Friday.

Traffic moved at a slow pace near the underpass for nearly an hour, when rewelding was being done between 4.30 and 5.30 pm.

The girder can withstand a maximum of 10.2 tonnes, and the weight of the truck) along with its load) was much higher than that, said an official at the spot. “We are carrying out rewelding work temporarily, to allow traffic to flow smoothly at the junction. The girder will be strengthened later in the night,” he added.

This is the reason why India will never flourish even after 100 years. who asked BBMP to finish the work in 3 days? everyone knows the quality of work if the work is finished in 3 days.. Instead they can take more time & give quality work.
