Simple narration, close-to-life characters and an uncomplicated story — that is how Pazhaniappan’s films have found their place in Tamil cinema.
This time too, the director doesn’t stray from his usual style of film-making, and gives another family-oriented movie.
Visalakshi (Sneha) is an only daughter. Always in the company of friends, she is married off to a joint family much to her delight.
The smiles don’t last long though. Her husband Nadesan (Cheran) is transferred to a hill station. Unlike Visalakshi, Nadesan — born into a joint family of 30 members — is overjoyed to move out.
Visalakshi, however, doesn’t wear her heart on her sleeves and doesn’t give her hubby a hint of her disappointment at leaving the family.
Oblivious to the likes and dislikes of his wife, Nadesan gets more involved in his work. Loneliness haunts her and gradually affects her mental health.
A lot of sleepless nights later, she is on the verge of a mental breakdown.
The lead actors perform well while Jeyaram makes the movie more lively.
Vidyasagar’s music fairs well.
But, a simple narration alone won’t make a good film. The pace of the movie also counts when it comes to box office success. And Pazhaniappan miserably fails in this area.
