Sinimol bags fine double on final day

Sinimol Paulose, who had won the 800 metres gold, completed a double by winning the 1500M gold with a timing of 4:23.71s on the final day of the 14th Federation Cup National athletics championship here on Friday.

Surender Singh, winner of the 5000M, too completed a double by winning men's 10000M with a timing of 29:52.69s.

Kuldev Singh and Sinimol were adjudged the best male and female athletes respectively after securing 1112 and 1112 points. Jharkhand emerged on top with 11 gold, 3 silver and 7 bronze while Army Sports Control Board came second with 7 gold, 3 silver and 3 bronze.

Mayookha Johny won the  long jump gold with a leap of 6.32 metres.
