Okkuta plans boycott of Nisar
Bangalore, DHNS:
Sugama Sangeetha Sanghagala Okkuta, a federation of 22 associations, has resolved to boycott poet K S Nisar Ahmed's songs in their music programmes...

The okkuta took this decision on Saturday as poet K S Nisar Ahmed did not attend the function organised for his felicitation in Bangalore. It was also unhappy over certain of his remarks he reportedly made when he was invited for the function.

Okkuta president H Phalguna said the organisation had decided to felicitate Nisar Ahmed, who was recently honoured with  Padmashree and singer Shimoga Subbana who recently received honorary doctorate from Kuvempu University.  But Nisar Ahmed insulted office-bearers of the Okkuta when they visited his residence to invite him.

“Nisar Ahmed expressed his displeasure on being invited to accept felicitation along with Shimoga Subbanna. He asked office-bearers to get out of his house,” he added. However, ,Nisar Ahmed declined to comment.
