The remaining programmes which are held as part of the fair will be continued as usual.
At the closing ceremony, the best breed were given prizes, which was given away by Dr Shivakumar Swamiji.
The cattle fair, is a part of the Siddaganga fair, which is compulsorily held every year.
It is the wish of Swamiji, for the cattle to remain throughout the fair, however, the best of the breeds which arrive from far off places are also sold immediately, within a matter of three days of the beginning of the fair.
And once, the cattle fair comes to an end, hardly a cattle will be spotted in the premises of the Mutt.
The Swamiji felicitates the owners of the proud cattle belonging to the best species, at the end of the fair, when the cattle are about to depart to their respective places. The farmers feel encouraged with this gesture.
Good business
This year, the farmers earned a good business in the cattle fair and the sale and purchase of the cattle also took place briskly.
Farmer Papanna, belonging to Chikkannadevara Hatti near Tumkur is the proud owner of one of the best breeds of cattle, which fetched him a highest price of Rs 1.85 lakh. This was one of the specialities of the cattle fair this year. Raju, a farmer belonging to Magadi purchased this cattle pair.
Compared to the number of cattle which appeared in the last few years, this year, a large number of cattle had arrived to the fair.
Some of the farmers were extremely emotional when their cattles were sold and bid a tearful farewell to them. This scene was very moving.
FARMERS GO HOME HAPPY
The cattle fair was begun by the Siddaganga Seer to provide a platform for the farmers. Cattle fair has been an intergral part of this programme.
This year Papanna from Chikkannadevara sold his cattle for the highest prize of Rs 1.85 lakh. He will be felicititated by Sri Shiva Kumara Swamiji.
The participants in the fair have also increased in comparison to last year and efforts have been made to accommodate the increasing numbers
