The members of Janapara Vedike on Saturday took out a protest march in Kolar against the injustice meted out to Kolar district in the railway budget.

They held the politicians responsible for the negligence. The politicians have been performing ground breaking programmes for the Bangarpet- Kolar- Chikkaballapur- Yalahanka railway line. But they conveniently forget the route after that. There is no use from such politicians, they alleged. They also burnt an effigy of Union Railway Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Funds

The members also raised slogans against the elected representatives and Union government. They said that the government has failed in reserving funds for the Kolar- Chikkaballapur line, which is undergoing gauge conversion now.

None of the politicians, who have been enjoying power, have been able to provide water facility to Kolar town. They have been cheating people when it came to providing assistance to farmers and generating employment opportunity. The leaders of the Vedike M G Prabhakar, A V Venkataram, B Suresh Gowda, Balaji Chennaiah, T Vijayakumar, Bellambari Nagaraj, M Raghavendra, Puttaraju, Rajesh, Mani, Chandrashekhara and others were present.
