“It is the moral responsibility of the social workers and non-governmental organisations to identify disabled people who are also economically backward and bring them into main stream society but also ensure that they are self-reliant” said  TMC president Shamshuddin Babu.

He was speaking at the vocational training workshop jointly organised by The Association of People with Disability and Taluk Disabled people association after inaugurating it.

“The State and the Central Governments along with the BGO have come with many innovative ideas and programmes just like those for the normal people” he added.

He also said that these programmes went a long way in making people with disability self reliant and dream for a better and brighter future.

Among those present on the occasion included the president of the Taluk disabled people’s association, Srinivas, TMC member Anubraj, media scribes V ShivaReddy, APD trainer Vijay Keshava, Rasool and others.
