ABVP said that earlier scholarships were being accorded to SC/ST students without any restrictions, but with the implementation of this report, injustice has been done to the SC/ST student.
Protest march
If this order is not withdrawn, ABVP will take a protest march to all the deputy commissioner’s offices in the State demanding the withdrawal of the order, ABVP Tumkur unit Convenor Rayasandra Ravikumar said.
The implementation of this order will be an obstacle for SC/ST student in pursuing higher education, he said. The ABVP has also opposed the order which says that only tuition fees and laboratory fees is exempted for women students up to degree level.
The coalition Government has assured free eduction up to degree from the academic year 2007-08, but before the order was issued colleges had taken full fees from the students, ABVP added.
