Based on a tip off, PSI Siddaraju arrested Shivakumar, belonging to Angadihalli village of Hassan district and Suresh, belonging to Kallupaly village of Kunigal taluk.
During interrogation, the two admitted to have stolen Rs 4 lakh worth tractor, Rs 15,000 worth trailer and Rs 35,000 worth golden necklace from a woman in Shravanabelagola in Hassan district. It was also revealed that Shivakumar was a murder-accused and his name had been booked in the K R Pete police station and there were four cases of thefts booked against him in Kunigal taluk and the said cases against him had been cleared. While, Suresh was wanted in four theft cases and had been absconding, without presenting himself before the court.
The arrests were made by Kunigal PSI Siddaraju, Crime Cell PSI Krishnamurthy and other staff members including Mohan, Satish, Shafiulla, Kumar, Shivanna and Lokesh, under the directions of SP Dr P S Harsha, Additional SP Anantharamu, DySP Prabhakar and CPI Balaramegowda.
