Free mass marriage held in Tiptur

A free mass marriage was organised in the taluk at Nonavinakere Sri Kadusidhdheswara mutt on the occasion of 215th 'Punyaradhana' of Sri Karibasava Swamy of Nonavinakere Kadusidhdheswara mutt and 23rd year of 'Pattadhikara' of Sri Karibasavadeshikendra Shivayogiswara Swamy.

 
Inaugurating a religious meet organised to mark the occasion President Award winner Dr Abdul Hamid said Indian religions uphold human values. Science may fail at times but religion can never be defeated, he added.

Inaugurating the mass marriage programme V Somanna applauded the efforts of Kadusiddeswara mutt for guiding generations  onto a righteous way of life.

Participating as chief guests former MP G S Basavaraju and former MLA K Shadakshari said the mutt has a strong historical and cultural background.

Sri Trinetra Mahanta Shivayogi of Babi grama mutt of Mandya district, Sri Chandrashekhar Swamiji of Bettadahalli mutt of Gubbi taluk, Sri Revanasiddha Shivacharya Swamiji of Rambhapuri mutt, Sri Abhinava Mallikarjun Swamiji of Tammadihalli Viraktamutt, Sri Yathiswara Shivacharya Swamiji of Kuppuru Gaddige mutt, Sri Shivananda Swamiji of Neelagara Karjagi Virakta mutt delivered discourses on the occasion.

The seers opined that values advocated by Indian religions should be inculcated in today’s youth so that  they turn into good human beings.

Sri Karibasavakendra Shivayogiswara Swamy called upon the devotees to contribute their might to the renovation work of the mutt costing Rs 8 crore.

Mathematics genius Master Anand Alur Hiremath was felicitated on the occasion.

Vidya yajna, Veera yajna and kendarchane had been organised for 101 children. Singer C Ashwath and troupe performed light music and devotional music. Former ministers and former legislators Prabhukumar, S P Gangadharappa, Hasan ZP former president Gurusidhdhappa, Arasikere CMC member Sidhdharamashetty were present.
