There is a need to create awareness about traffic rules among the people, Sub-Inspector Satyanarayana of Chikkaballapur Town police station said here on Sunday.
The police staff seized vehicles on the important roads of Chikkaballapur for haphazard parking and advised people on the traffic rules and regulations. This exercise will go on for one week.
Pavement encroachment by the shopkeepers on BB Road, MG Road, Sir MV Road and other prominent roads of the city were demolished by the police. The police told the shop-owners not to encroach the pavements meant for the movement of pedestrians.
Drivers of trucks and other vehicles who had parked their vehicles on the pavement were fined by the police.
