The youth scientist award constituted by Karnataka Science Parishat was presented at the office of the Deputy Commissioner on Friday by district head quarters assistant to the Deputy Commissioner N Babanna. Speaking on the occasion, Babanna said that it is very important for a student to keep a goal and work towards achieving it.
9th standard student R Soundarya of Chinmaya Vidyalaya won the first place while, 8th standard student of Mahila Samaja School bagged second place and 10th standard student N Ravikumar of Chinmaya Vidyalaya was awarded third place.
These students were awarded prizes based on their performances in various contests such as Children’s Science Meet, Science quiz, Science exhibition, marks they got in Science subjects, Prathibha Karanji, Children’s Science convention and others.
Deputy director of Education Department, Nagarajan, BEO K S Nagaraja Gowda, Ramakrishna Reddy, Somanna of high school head master’s association and others were also present on the occasion.
