US Loans To India With Concessions
Washington, March 2
The United States has made substantial concession to India in negotiations here on 225 million dollars worth of loans for India’s Second Five-Year Plan, authoritative sources said today.
One loan of 150 million dollars will be made by the US Government Export-Import Bank. Another of 75 million dollars will come from the new Development Loan Fund of the International Co-operation Administration.
Ceylon’s Indian Nationals Issue

The Ceylon Prime Minister, Solomon Bandaranaike, declared today that solution of the citizenship problem of Indian settlers on Ceylon’s tea plantations was imperative before the government could undertake nationalisation of the plantation industry.

Bangarappa Elected President of KKR
Bangalore, March 2
The Karnataka Kranti Ranga (KKR) faction, owing allegiance to S Bangarappa, decided at its general body meeting here today to retain its separate entity. The party executive had taken a similar decision earlier.
The general body meeting presided over by M Ramappa MLA and senior vice-president of the party elected unanimously Mr Bangarappa as the President of the party.
