Punjabi clinches bowling title

National champion Vijay Punjabi averaged 189.64 points to clinch the KSTBA tenpin bowling league title.

Vijay averaged an awesome 199.66 in the last six games to comeaway as a clear winner, leaving behind Shashi Kumar (185.25) and Girish Gaba (185.17).

In the women’s section, Prathima Hegde (177.14) took the title while Judy Alban (155.75) and Swapna (155) came second and third respectively.

Vijay scored a total of 6827 pins in the league to win the title while Shashi made 6669, just three pins ahead of Gaba.

However, Prathima eased out her opponents as she scored 6377 pins to that of 5607 by Judy, who came second.

‘B’ Division soccer from today

The ‘B’ Division football matches will commence at the ITI football grounds from Monday. Ten teams will compete in the tournament which is being played on a knockout basis and the teams have been divided into two groups.

New Lucky Star will take on Minerva in the inaugural match on Monday.

Teams: Group A: ISRO, Minerva, Modern Boys, New Lucky Star, Jupiter.
Group B: Queen Star, Mico, Bangalore Mars, Young Muslims, Students Union.
